Video: Crescent Moon Cut Crease With Blue Glitter

I've been feeling like I'm in a bit of a creative rut recently, which has made it very difficult to think of tutorials to record. I see so many amazing, creative, talented make up artists daily on YouTube and Instagram, and they make me want to step up my game so much. I feel like the more creative looks aren't necessarily what I'm good at, so I tend to avoid doing them in order to avoid failing at them! I love using colour, and I feel like I can do bright looks, dark looks and neutral looks, but anything with unusual shapes or intricate detail terrifies me.

But I decided to finally bite the bullet and give a more creative look a go. It's nowhere near what others are capable of doing, but it's definitely a step out of my comfort zone, and I'm glad I challenged myself. For those who are interested, my favourite creative make up artists are Kirsty and Sandra, whose make up looks just absolutely blow my mind!! I know I will never be able to do make up like theirs, and I think that's because I can't draw or paint, which seem to me like necessary skills.

This look is essentially a cut crease, but I decided to make the lines clean rather than blending out (my usual method). I also decided to use glitter liner to outline everything, and to make the look more interesting. It's actually quite simple because it's just a case of drawing the lines on and colouring around it. The colours and finishes of the eyeshadows can easily be adapted to suit whatever you want, I just felt like black was the most dramatic, and I'd been wanting to film a look with that Glamour Doll Eyes loose eyeshadow for the longest time. Since I'm sure many people don't find this kind of make up wearable anyway I decided I would go ahead and add the biggest lashes I have and do a black lip, which I never get to do, but love to wear.

Eyes
Urban Decay Primer Potion
NYX Jumbo Pencil - Milk
Illamasqua e/s - Control
MAC Fix+ (water is an alternative, this is used with the loose shadow below)
Glamour Doll Eyes loose shadow - Island Chic
Urban Decay e/s - Blackout
MAC e/s - Next to Nothing
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Pencil - Zero
Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Liner - Perversion
Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner - Air Guitar
Maybelline The Falsies Volum'Express - Black Drama
Eylure False Lashes - #202

Lips
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Pencil - Zero (as lip liner)
Yves Saint Laurent Gloss Pur - #49

Obviously YSL is an expensive brand, so provided you use a black pencil as a base you can use any clear gloss over the top to add shine, and still have black lips. Various brands do a black lipstick (Barry M, Stargazer), so there's that as an alternative too, I just don't own one! Also I think the YSL one might have been limited edition, and you probably won't want to use it anyway because it smells and tastes DISGUSTING.

Contour
MAC e/s - Dark Edge

why I never wear lashes this big - you can't see all the hard work I put into the eye makeup!

Thanks for reading, and please watch the tutorial!
