Rockabilly / Alt Inspired Look (Full Face Tutorial)

After a request from my friend Kirstie to do a Rockabilly style make up tutorial I have been spending a lot of time Googling 'rockabilly' 'rockabilly makeup' 'rockabilly style', and so on to find the quintessential Rockabilly make up look.

From what I gather the entire style originates from the fifties, and has become modernised generally in terms of both the males and females tending to have body modification (i.e. tattoos and piercings). This is absolutely what I am into, and although I don't style myself this way, it is definitely a style I have admired from afar wishing I had the necessary skills to achieve their incredible hairstyles.

The research was basically to find out if there was a typical make up look that the majority went with so that I could replicated this in a tutorial. I found generally that the make up involves pale skin, contouring/blusher, very dark & defined eyebrows, a very thin liquid eyeliner flick, and of course the red lip.

I did almost exactly that, but decided to liven it up a little with some neutral eyeshadows from the second Naked Palette, and I added some big lashes (as I have seen is popular in this style, though not always there).

I really hope I did the look justice, it is always scary trying to show people how to do something I don't have experience (and therefore credibility) of doing.

I LOVE how it came out, even my hair went as planned! So enjoy:
